Ben Theye: Ben founded GridLogik Inc. in May of 2012 and is currently the President and CEO. His duties include determination of the overall strategy of the company with regard to product development, sales, experimental design and the validation and/or adjustment of the business plan. On the Board of Directors, Ben has 50% voting rights and in terms of equity, he currently owns 80% of the company. Although this is Ben’s first startup, he has demonstrated his aptitude for leadership, proclivity for analytical reasoning, and unwavering dedication in previous projects while completing his undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill. Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (GPA 4.0) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (GPA 3.7), Ben is entering his senior year this fall with only 21 hours of credit left to complete. Notable undertakings include: undergraduate research in biology, specifically the G protein complex of A. thaliana; Fed Challenge (a national monetary policy competition conducted by the Federal Reserve) as a presentation team member; a market analyst internship with Oryza, a commodities news and market analysis organization owned by TRC Trading Corporation; and the position of job manager with his father’s electrical contracting company, Theye Electric Inc. Through his academic and extracurricular experiences, Ben has not only demonstrated his capacity to learn and apply new skills and knowledge rapidly, but also a prowess for leadership, problem solving, and ingenuity.

Matt Delafield: Matt joined GridLogik in May 2012 and is currently the CMO. His duties include determining and implementing the marketing and sale strategies, as well as assisting Ben with defining the overall strategy of the company. Matt is also in charge of business communication, designing and developing presentations and the proper business plan. On the Board of Directors, Matt has 50% voting rights and in terms of equity, he currently owns 20% of the company. Matt is a senior at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Matt is concentrating his business studies in entrepreneurship and real estate investment. Matthew has excelled as a student, currently holding a 3.4 GPA in the business school, as well as receiving academic honors from the university. Matthew is a member of the UNC Men’s Tennis team and is an active member in the Alpha Lambda chapter of the professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. Matthew has held numerous internships in a variety of business settings. Matthew is currently the CMO of Renewable Energy Services, a company founded by his father, John Delafield. He has also held a financial analysis position for Blue Heron Asset Management and a marketing internship position at the Chapel Hill Acupuncture Healing Center. Through the combination of work experience, academic studies, and athletic practice, Matt is able to offer a very unique and valuable skillset for the management team.
